Titans Day of Giving is Live!

Today, we are fundraising through Titans Day of Giving! Help us bring history to life by supporting the Center for Oral and Public History (COPH) at Cal State Fullerton! COPH is dedicated to preserving the voices of diverse communities and individuals whose experiences have shaped Southern California and influenced national and global narratives. On we honor the activists who have dedicated their lives to protecting and preserving our environment!
On November 28, 2012, Natalie Garcia conducted an interview with Joan Taylor for the Grassroots Politics Oral History Project. This interview discusses Joan’s 40-year-long dedication to desert preservation, her work for the Sierra Club, renewable energy, and women’s experiences in activist circles.

On January 31st, we were delighted to conduct an interview with Martha Kirouac for the Cal State Fullerton University Oral History Project, and attend a celebration honoring her achievements as an intercollegiate golf champion. In 1967 at just 18 years old, Martha became the third college freshman in history to win the title. Thank you to UA & SC for sharing this news article with us!

Thank you to everyone who came to the opening of the exhibit, “Overlooked Injustice: The Children’s Village at Manzanar,” curated by Kiana Nakamura. We are proud to have this exhibit on display at COPH and to highlight stories from our Japanese American Oral History Collection. This exhibit is on view at COPH Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm.
