Today Amma, Pope Francis, and other leaders of the world's religions made history. They came together in one voice to declare that modern slavery is a crime against humanity. They called on all people, irrespective of gender, faith and culture, to work together to eradicate human trafficking and all other forms of slavery from the face of the earth by 2020.

Our Global Leader in Residence, WC’s own Shauna Aminath (’08), will be speaking at NOON on Tuesday instead of Thursday at 11. Her talk – “Never Give Up: Winning Against The Odds” – will take place in Hermann Lounge. She will talk about her pro-democracy political activism in The Maldives, why she was jailed twice, and her commitment to nonviolence.

We hope to have a good crowd but because of the late change (so we didn’t overlap with the Woodrow Wilson Fellow) we hope that YOU will attend that that you encourage your students to be there as well.

A critical need for blood donors continues as summer comes to an end. All blood types are needed to ensure an adequate blood supply is available.

The initiative is action towards President's Interfaith and Community Service Campus Challenge, an initiative inviting institutions of higher education to commit to a year of interfaith and community service programming on campus. In this program diverse campus groups work together to implement a specific year-long service project. On some campuses student organizations partner with local religious groups to tackle a specific community challenge together.
