It’s not too early to start thinking about next year.

As the year begins to wind down, you may already be praying about what God has for you in the next season. If ministry education has been on your mind, now is a great time to start the conversation.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Maybe you’re wondering if you’re too old to go back to school, worried about keeping up with technology, or unsure how classes could fit into an already full schedule.

At Ascent, most of our students take just one class per term. You don’t have to follow a traditional full-time college timeline to belong here. You can learn at a pace that allows you to truly engage with what you’re learning while continuing to serve, work, and care for the responsibilities God has already placed in your life.

Our goal isn’t to rush you through a program. We want your education to contribute to your spiritual formation and prepare you for where God is leading you.

Ministry doesn’t only happen in physical spaces.

Online communities have their own cultures, language, values, relationships, and ways of seeing the world. Understanding those spaces can help us think more intentionally about what ministry looks like in a digital age.

In MIN293: Digital Cultures and Communities, students explore how culture is formed online and take a closer look at digital communities, including spaces like gaming and fandom cultures. Students also learn practices for digital exegesis, helping them better understand the people and cultures they may be called to reach.

If you’re interested in the intersection of ministry, culture, and the digital world, this course offers a unique opportunity to explore all three.

What if multiplication wasn’t simply something a church could choose to pursue, but part of its DNA from the beginning?

That’s one of the ideas students will explore in CPM105: From Acts to Action: The Theology and DNA of Church Planting Multiplication.

This three-credit course digs into the biblical, theological, and historical foundations of church planting and multiplication. Students will explore the mission of God, New Testament examples of the Church in action, and what it looks like to move from an addition mindset to a multiplication mindset.

Along the way, students will begin developing their own theology of church planting and consider how investing in multiplying leaders can help create healthy churches that continue making disciples and developing new leaders.

CPM105 is part of Ascent College’s Church Planting and Multiplication Certificate but can be taken separately. Talk to your advisor to learn more!

Ascent College’s Church Planting and Multiplication Certificate is designed for leaders who want to do more than start churches. It’s about developing healthy churches and leaders with multiplication built into their DNA from the beginning.

Through focused, online coursework, students will explore the biblical foundations of church planting, leadership development, evangelism, multiplication strategies, and the practical work of developing future church planters.

The certificate includes five eight-week courses and can be completed independently without pursuing a full degree program.

October is Minister's Appreciation Month, and we want to take a moment to recognize the pastors and ministry leaders who faithfully pour into others week after week.

Sometimes the people who consistently encourage, teach, pray for, and walk alongside us are the very people we forget to encourage in return.

This month, let’s be intentional about saying our appreciation out loud.

Hebrews 6:10 reminds us that God sees our faithfulness. He sees the quiet acts of service, the time spent caring for others, and the love shown in His name.

As we enter a new month, may we continue serving faithfully, knowing that no act of love done for His glory is overlooked.
