Meet Noah Peterson, one of the first graduates of UF’s online M.A. in Economics program. 🐊

For Noah, earning his degree also meant the opportunity to put his knowledge into practice. Through his capstone project, he crafted a revenue forecast for the Idaho Legislature, applying his economic expertise to a real-world challenge.

And being part of the first graduating cohort made the experience even more meaningful.

“To be able to get a degree from a program like that and be the first is really cool,” Noah said.

Just one year after launching, the online M.A. in Economics is celebrating its first graduating cohort. And these students did not wait until graduation to put what they have learned to work!

One is building a revenue forecast for the Idaho legislature. Another is using econometrics to better understand labor market challenges in Zambia. Others are deepening their understanding of economic policy and preparing to transition into new fields.

They joined the program from different industries, locations and stages of life. Now, they all share a stronger ability to use data to understand the decisions shaping the world around them.
