Doctor of Physical Therapy White Coat Ceremony!🩺🥼Our DPT class of 2028 cohort recently experienced their white coat ceremony! This tradition signifies the end of their classroom work and their transition into clinical experiences. We are so proud of this dedicated group of students, and we can’t wait to see how they’ll flourish as practicing physical therapists!

Also, congrats to Taylor Walker (pictured in second image), who received the Clinical Tiger Award! This honor is presented to one PT student who stands out both academically and clinically.

As a part of an interdisciplinary class this summer, a group of PsyD, PA-S, and PT students teamed up to provide support to some of the residents of Myrtle Terrace, an independent living facility in Gainesville! Through their collaborative efforts, they conducted collaborative screenings to evaluate the physical and mental health of their assigned residents. From there, the students helped the residents establish personalized health goals, then connected them with community resources.

The importance of mental healthcare is front of mind for our students in the Lynn J. Darby School of Psychology and Adolescent Counseling as they provide clinical counseling for the Brenau and local community. As they continue to meet the mental healthcare needs of others, it is important that they also prioritize their own mental health care. A fund was recently created in memory of Brenau alumna Laila Muhanna to assist School of Psychology graduate students with the cost of their own mental healthcare. To contribute to this important endeavor in memory of Laila, you can make a gift to the Laila Muhanna Fund for Psychology Students at brenau.edu/muhanna-fund.
