🚀 This , we’re featuring Samantha Kormanyos from the Senior Design Lab in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at UF! Samantha and her team created Digest-a-Bull, a system that simulates a cow's stomach to help advance livestock feeding research.

Using a sealed system, this advancement allows researchers to track methane production, nutrient absorption, and more. The Wi-Fi-enabled design makes real-time data monitoring easier, helping improve feeding practices, animal nutrition, and sustainability in food production. 🌱🐄

🏎️ This , we’re highlighting Gator Motorsports, the official University of Florida Formula Society of Automotive Engineers (FSAE) team in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at UF.

Students apply the knowledge they learn in class to build a car from scratch. They have just one year to design, build, and test it before competing against +100 other teams from around the world in the annual FSAE competition.

Team captain Daniel Patel shared that the biggest challenge isn’t just the engineering. It's managing different personalities whilst working towards a common goal, making this as much of a people management project as an engineering one.

We’re proud to see how Gator innovation and teamwork are driving performance on and off the track.

University of Florida researchers have uncovered surprising behavior in boiling cryogenic liquids that could help engineers better manage the ultracold fuels and coolants future spacecraft will rely on.

Published July 8 in npj Microgravity, the findings lay important groundwork for next-generation spacecraft systems, helping us get one step closer to making deep-space missions more efficient, reliable and sustainable.
