Now you see us: now you don't.

Representatives from the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division (3ID) and the Civil Military Innovation Institute (CMI2) visited the University of Florida recently to attend the final presentation of Veil Thermal Systems™, a student team developing vehicle thermal decoy shrouds through MAE’s Capstone program.

The resulting student-designed system shrouds a low-cost decoy and projects an infrared (IR) signature mimicking an active vehicle. The false IR signature confuses energy targeting and draws fire away from real vehicles to help keep solders protected.

Every year, the international community gets together to celebrate World Space Week. In less than 100 years since the launch of the first human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik 1, humans have made leaps in the advancement of space science and technology. Pictured here is NASA's Space Launch System (SLS), which took its second trip to space earlier this year carrying an international crew around the Moon in the second phase of the Artemis program. Soon enough, humankind will be back on the Moon and reaching for Mars. 💫

🚜✨ Big machines, big learning opportunities.

More than 30 students joined Dr. John Schueller for Tractor Day to get behind the wheel of tractors and learn backhoe operation. There's no better way to learn than by doing, and our students got plenty of time behind the wheel gaining hands-on experience with the equipment that powers modern agriculture.
Students experienced and learned about the dynamic performance of systems such as hydraulics, transmissions, and automated steering.

Special shoutout to Daniel Preston for helping out Dr. Schueller and his team for a wonderful day of learning about tractors.
