In 1932, H.P. Constans made his full-length directorial debut at the University of Florida, guiding the newly established Florida Players in their production of Oscar Wilde’s timeless comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest. Now, 93 years later, that same play takes its final bow tomorrow for the 2025 season—this time under the superb direction of Lauren Warhol Caldwell, on the very stage that bears Constans’ name. As Oscar Wilde once observed, “The stage is not merely the meeting place of all the arts, but is also the return of art to life.” You don’t want to miss the laughs and life that this team has brought to this play.

We were so excited to welcome Juliana Azoubel BFA ‘01 (of the first BFA Dance graduating class!) back to campus as the 2024-2025 recipient of the Ric Rose Alumni Award. The Ric Rose Fund for Dance honors Ric’s legacy of artistic excellence and heart-centered pedagogy by connecting current dance students to dance alumni through financial support of travel expenses and honoraria. While on campus, Juliana connected with current students, faculty, and community members through a masterclass, guest lecture, and award reception.
