On May 21st, our Aquatic Animal Health Faculty, awarded 15 veterinary graduates with the Aquatic Animal Medicine Certificate. We are extremely proud of these new veterinarians and we are excited to see their contributions in the field!
Three of them also received the "Deke" Beusse Aquatic Animal Health Award! This award honors the legacy and influence Dr. Diedrich O. Beusse, first director of the Aquatic Animal Health Program, had on students to pursue their passion for learning about Aquatic Animal Health and caring for the many species he felt so strongly about.
These three recipients have shown exceptional effort and interest in pursuing a career in aquatic animal medicine. We congratulate Drs. Victoria Garefino, Abigail Uhrinek, and Kelly Patterson on receiving this prestigious award!

Today is World Snake Day! It's a day to honor snakes and spread awareness of the threats they face everyday. We want to highlight these wonderful and often misunderstood animmals. Although they don't receive much attention, they play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Next time you encounter a snake, take some time to appreciate their amazing adaptations and everything they do for our planet.
Let's celebrate snakes and share the word about how everyone can admire them!
