Can't believe another SeaVet generation have completed the course! We had 50 participants on the 2026 SeaVet Clinical Training Course and 21 different speakers covering a variety of topics such as fish medicine and aquaculture, manatee medicine, bottlenose dolphin conservation, cytology, and much more! We had vet students and veterinarians joining from different states and countries like Brazil, Colombia, and Australia to learn on Aquatic Animal Medicine, Woohoo!
In-person participants completed sea turtle necropsies, and attended field trips to SeaWorld Orlando, Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens, and ZooTampa at Lowry Park where they learned about wildlife rehabilitation and clinical care. The
Pacific Marine Mammal Center and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium took us on a virtual tour behind the scenes so we could learn about the species they care for.
University of Florida Marine Animal Rescue joined us in training students to respond to marine mammal stranding events.

We want to extend our sincere gratitude to all the speakers, the facilities, and participants who made SeaVet 2026 a reality.
We look forward to seeing how these veterinarians and veterinary students take this knowledge into their careers with aquatic animals!

Today is World Snake Day! It's a day to honor snakes and spread awareness of the threats they face everyday. We want to highlight these wonderful and often misunderstood animmals. Although they don't receive much attention, they play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Next time you encounter a snake, take some time to appreciate their amazing adaptations and everything they do for our planet.
Let's celebrate snakes and share the word about how everyone can admire them!
