UF Alert The official UF emergency notification program. This page is not actively monitored, for a life safety emergency, please dial 911 immediately.

Go to UFAlert.ufl.edu to learn more about UF Alert features and answers to many frequently asked questions. The University of Florida employs a multi-modal approach to emergency notifications, using several different methods to inform the campus community. Since UF maintains a large campus involving diverse operations, it is important to understand that no single approach has the ability to reach 100% of the population. For this reason, as a student, faculty, or staff member you should educate yourself on the various notification methods available. Emergency notification systems are coordinated by the UF Department of Emergency Management in cooperation with University of Florida Police Department and University Relations. When possible final outcomes will be posted as a comment to the last alert sent on Facebook.

Campus Safety Message-Gainesville: The University of Florida Police Department would like to provide additional information regarding two individuals who are walking along the boundary of the Gainesville campus with what appear to be ri**es.

At 12:25 p.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 9, UFPD received reports of two individuals walking along the public sidewalk adjacent to campus with what appeared to be ri**es. These individuals are doing so on public sidewalks and have not walked onto campus.

While this type of demonstration can be alarming, Florida law does not prohibit individuals from carrying ri**es openly while in public spaces.

UFPD would like to thank all who have taken the time to report this incident. A safe campus is a vigilant one.
