Earlier today, Pi Lambda Phi and Tau Epsilon Phi - UF faced off in their annual Nose Bowl flag football game. This long-standing rivalry dates all the way back to 1951, when the first Nose Bowl took place.
However, the game has taken on additional meaning, as it is now played in honor of UF Tau Epsilon Phi brother Eli Silverman, who passed away suddenly in 2023 at just 19 years old due to sudden cardiac arrest.
The Nose Bowl now serves as an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for the Eli’s Lasting Impact Foundation. Established in Eli’s memory, the foundation seeks to find a cure for sudden cardiac death (SCD).
Eli’s childhood friend, Marc Wendrow, shared a few words with the hundreds of people in attendance before today’s kickoff.
