Great turnout on June 2, 2026 for the Landowner Opportunities and Resources Workshop in Columbia County.

Landowners met with agency reps from USDA, Florida Forest Service, FWC, UF IFAS Extension, SFFGS, Certified Tree Farm, Florida Farm Bureau, State Implementation Committee, Florida Land Steward Partnership, North Florida Cattlemen's Association, North Florida Prescribed Burn Association, Alachua Conservation Trust, and the Florida Women Landowners.

Agency reps presented information on programs and funding available to help landowners develop land management strategies and sustain value in their acreage.

The Gator Nation was in full force as most of those reps are UF alumni. See some familiar faces?

Congrats are in order!

Thousands of students and community members visit the fishing ponds out at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Fisheries and Aquatics Sciences facility on Millhopper Road in Gainesville each year.

That's where Katie Hagan, program director of Fishing For Success, engages with groups to share knowledge of fishing, marine organisms and so much more.

SFFGS is recognizing Katie as Staff Member of the Month for her passion, enthusiasm and dedication to educating the next generation. Thanks for all that you do Katie!
