The Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to recognize Shaney T. Livingston as one of four distinguished recipients of the 2026 Legacy of Leadership Honoree Award at the Juneteenth Gospel & Jazz Sunrise Breakfast.

As Library Director for the Alachua County Library District, Ms. Livingston has demonstrated exceptional leadership, public service, and stewardship. Her dedication to expanding access, strengthening community resources, and serving the residents of Alachua County continues to create a lasting impact throughout our community.

As Assistant Dean for Student & Community Affairs and Clinical Professor at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Bowie has distinguished himself as a veterinary educator, global health researcher, civic leader, and mentor. His commitment to expanding access, advancing discovery, and creating pathways for future generations continues to make a lasting impact in our community and beyond.

This event will serve as a meaningful Juneteenth celebration recognizing faith, resilience, and community progress. As part of the celebration, the chapter will present the Legacy of Leadership Honoree Award, recognizing outstanding community leaders whose sustained service and leadership have created lasting impact. The theme is “Morning Glory: Faith, Freedom & Forward Movement”.
