Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization of educated women committed to serving the greater Gainesville area.

The Gainesville Alumnae Chapter has been a part of the Gainesville, Florida community for over thirty years. The Chapter’s programs and activities are guided by our Sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, which includes Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health, and Political Awareness and Involvement.

The Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated proudly celebrates Soror Tonita Orr as she commemorates an extraordinary milestone—52 years in our beloved sisterhood! She is a charter member of the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter!

Soror Tonita Orr was initiated on March 15, 1975, through the Orlando Alumnae Chapter!

The Physical & Mental Health Committee of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated invites you to join us for an important and empowering conversation centered on Black women’s mental and emotional wellness during perimenopause and menopause.

Perimenopause and menopause are more than physical changes. They can impact mood, stress, sleep, confidence, relationships, and overall mental well-being. Yet, these experiences are not always openly discussed.

Join us as we:

- Explore how perimenopause and menopause can affect mental health
- Discuss common emotional and psychological changes
- Share experiences and create space for honest conversation
- Learn practical coping strategies and wellness tools
Connect with other women navigating similar transitions
- Encourage one another through education, understanding, and community

Community Engagement in Action!

Last weekend, the Gainesville Alumnae, the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, proudly partnered with the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE) to bring an important and empowering workshop to our community, “The Law and Your Community.”

This informative workshop provided an opportunity for meaningful dialogue, education, and engagement around understanding our rights, responsibilities, and interactions with law enforcement.

We believe that knowledge is power, understanding builds trust, and informed communities are empowered communities.

We extend our sincere appreciation to NOBLE for its partnership and commitment to community education, as well as to everyone who participated in this important conversation.

Together, we continue to move with purpose, serve with heart, and make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve!

Soror Chin served as one of the moderators for the Candidate Forum held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida.

The forum was presented in collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Alachua County, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated Delta Sigma Zeta Chapter and other non-partisan organizations.

As moderator, Soror Chin helped facilitate an informative and engaging discussion, posing thoughtful questions and helping ensure candidates had an opportunity to address their perspectives on issues important to voters in our community.
