B.O.S.S. Women is an organization designed to empower young women in the sports world whether they are athletes or trying to obtain a career in the sports industry. The issue that this organization is based on is the fact that there aren’t many women prominent in sports and the ones you do see aren’t idolized for their knowledge in sports, rather the

ir physical attributes! Thus, we strive on educating our women on the knowledge of the sport, (basketball, football, tracks baseball, etc.)The business behind the sport (endorsement deals, sponsorship, marketing, law, etc...) and how to land a job in the field of sport (the art of networking). As a women you want to go into this industry prepared; knowing your facts, figures and history, prepared for criticism and judgment, and changes within that given environment; thus we equip you with all the tools necessary to be just a good as your counterpart; if not, better! In short, we go on facility trips, games, conferences, we host socials, sporting events, business seminars, forums, have guest speakers prominent in the field of sports and business and much more. We also try to do a great deal of service and really build a kinship among our members. Although the title of the organization is called B.O.S.S. Women, the club is always open to males (they just can’t hold an e-board position). But, we definitely encourage men to participate; men can empower women in sports as well, and I think it is very important to get that support from them as well.
