Greetings from everywhere! 🛩️💜

Class may have been out of session, but that didn’t stop students from expanding their horizons over the summer. For some, it was a chance to get hands-on experience and develop practical skills in a career field that interests them. Students found valuable work opportunities in finance, the arts, publishing, marketing and much more.

Swipe to see their postcards and read about their experiences in their own words at the link in our bio ✉️✨

Kenyon’s Board of Trustees is pleased to welcome four new members who bring with them a multitude of skills and experience as well as a strong commitment to the mission and values of the College.

Three new at-large trustees will have six-year terms: Marian Block ’75, Emily Kunze ’96 and Jeffrey Romph ’97. A new alumni trustee — James Greenwood ’02 — will join the group as well for a four-year term.

The board’s Governance and Nominating Committee recommended the candidates, who were approved by the full board at its April meeting and who include Kenyon graduates from across the years. They joined the board beginning July 1.

Tennis players come from all over the country and the world to compete as part of Kenyon’s NCAA Division III team, which has won three NCAA team titles, four individual championships in singles and doubles play, and 22 NCAC titles. But more than the wins, players will tell you it’s the community they find on the court that is most meaningful: the coaches, their teammates, the time they spend together.

Paulo and Shadia show us around Jasper Tennis Center — surfaced with the same material used at Arthur Ashe Stadium — and the outdoor courts. They share why these courts are their second home at Kenyon. 🎾

Have you ever wondered how we choose first-year roommates? Kenyon is one of a few schools that still has an entirely hand-matched (human!) process. We went behind the scenes to learn more about how roommates are paired and what makes a good match! 🏡✨

Hey!

My biggest tip - get a mattress topper haha.

(Note 5)

Dear first-year student,

Get ready for an AMAZING four years to come, I am thrilled for you! As a graduating senior, it feels hard to believe that my time on our hill is ending. The best piece of advice I can give you is to say hello - say hello to anyone and everyone you run into, always invite a new person to sit at your table. It is a privilege to be at a place where you can learn for the joy of learning. Choose joy - take walks along middle path, lay in the sun, sing loudly during first-year sing - my favorite tradition. Remember, there are centuries of students who have spent their time right where you are, and everyone is cheering for you. Good luck, have fun, GO KENYON đź’ś

Warmly, Delilah
