Sigma Delta Tau- Gamma Chi Chapter at SUNY Geneseo was founded in the spring of 1991. Our motto is “Patriae Multae Spes Una”, meaning One Hope of Many People.

Our chapter was founded in Spring of 1991.

“Choosing SDT was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It continues to change my life in ways I never thought was possible. I was so nervous to rush because I was older than so many of the girls, but from the very beginning, every single person welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I belonged.

Finding people who I know will stand by my side through anything and everything has given me a sense of family and community here at Geneseo that I never knew I was missing. My heart has grown so much after seeing the endless love, support, and kindness we pour into one another every single day. We truly are each other’s biggest fans.

I’ve grown so much as a person because of this chapter, and I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a rare, genuine, and lifelong bond with the girls I’m proud to call my sisters.”

“Choosing SDT has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my time here at Geneseo! If you had told me before coming to college that I would join a sorority, I honestly never would have believed you. SDT has given back to me in more beautiful ways than I ever could have imagined! From the very beginning, I felt comfortable being my most genuine, authentic self with these girls. They welcomed me with so much love and kindness, making me feel like i had found the sisters I never had. It’s such a gift to be surrounded by so many strong, kind, intelligent, and beautiful women inside and out who constantly inspire, support, and uplift me through every season of life. SDT has truly become my home away from home, and it has introduced me to the girls I know will be standing beside me on my wedding day and by my side for years to come, long after college.
