I can't find Demarest Hall! Where is the bookstore? How do I borrow a book on reserve? We will be staffing a Directions/Information Table on Monday, August 31st, from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the Stern Lawn side of the library to help assist students as they head to their first classes! And there will be ice pops (while supplies last!)

Catherine perfectly fit an interlibrary loan book into a recycled shipping box. We had to document this, obviously! PSA: Normal hours at the library resume tomorrow! The first floor is open 24/7, and the circulation desk and other floors will be open 12-5. You can always check our website under the "About" tab to see when we're open.

Heads up- our hours have changed! We're back to being open from 8:30 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday until the start of the semester. As per usual, the First Floor is open 24/7.

The Burned Bible is one of the most unique items in our archives. The Bible was printed in London by Christopher Barker in 1595. It was given to the President of Hobart College, Benjamin Hale, in 1840. It was later given to the library by Professor J. H. Thayer, on April 26, 1867. Thayer was Professor of Sacred Literature at Andover Theological Seminary. The Bible was burned in the fire that destroyed the Middle Building, which functioned as Hobart College's library.
