Southwestern University Alumni Association

VISION: A lifelong Southwestern Experience. In 2003, the Southwestern University Alumni Association was established.

The Association consists of more than 15,000 members with approximately 78% living in Texas, 21% living out-of-state and 1% living internationally. The Association is not a dues paying organization. Southwestern alumni are members by virtue of having completed at least 24 credits at Southwestern University. Membership in The Association is free and for life. Our website is full of information to w

hich our members have access to make connections and to enjoy throughout the year. Check out these statistics (as of June 2014):

Our alumni are always finding ways to give back! 🏴‍☠️

We are so grateful to Sammie Robinson ’73 and Olivia Marmion ’05 with the Black Alumni Network, and Allison Stubbs ’14 with Jeremiah’s Ice, for supporting our students and handing out delicious treats as they return to campus for the new school year. Go Pirates! 🍦💛

Samar Dawy '18 | San Antonio, TX

A Biology major at Southwestern, Samar Dawy completed her M.S. in biology at UT Rio Grande Valley and her D.D.S. at UT Health Science Center San Antonio. As a dentist, she is fulfilling the aspiration she envisioned when she began her studies at Southwestern. She appreciates the connections she made through Paideia and SU’s interdisciplinary curriculum.

Marco Alcocer '14 | Merced, CA

A Political Science and Spanish double major at Southwestern, Marco Alcocer holds an M.A. in international security from George Mason University and a Ph.D. in political science from UC San Diego. He teaches and researches political and criminal violence in Latin America at UC Merced, crediting Southwestern with nurturing his intellectual growth and his curiosity about the world.

Houston, what a way to wrap up our Pirate for Life summer! 🏴‍☠️💛

With more than 90 Pirate alumni, incoming students, and friends in attendance, this was our biggest Pirate for Life event this summer!

Huge thank you and shoutout to Shelley Eichenlaub '00 for hosting us at Eureka Heights Brew Co!

We loved celebrating with everyone!
