The Lambda chapter is deeply saddened to share that we have lost a cherished member of our sisterhood, Laura “Ale” Carrasco Torres.
A dedicated member of our chapter, Ale served as our Chapter President in 2023, leading with grace, and compassion. She poured so much of herself into Zeta, always striving to make our sisterhood stronger and more connected. Her leadership reflected her heart which was genuine, uplifting, and rooted in care for every single sister.
Ale was a constant reminder of what it means to love. She was a ray of sunshine in all of her friend’s lives, loving everyone unconditionally and without hesitation. She reminded us that love is not just something we feel, but something we give freely and wholeheartedly. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, seen, and valued. Whether through her kindness, or simply her presence, she was a constant source of joy and comfort to all who knew her.
Her light touched so many lives, and her impact on our chapter will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, the warmth she shared and the love she gave will continue to guide us. We will honor her by carrying that same kindness forward, by supporting one another, and by never taking a single moment for granted.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Ale’s memory to support a school field trip at Sylvan R. Rodriguez Jr. Elementary School in Houston, Texas, where she had recently begun teaching and fundraising for her students.
