TRUCK PARTS COUNTER SALES

looking for an energetic and motivated person to join our busy Bus & Truck Center Parts Department. The
Parts Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting our both walk-in and phone customers select the
correct part.
DUTIES
• Assist all customers in selecting required parts in a professional manner.
• Consistently follow up on outstanding back orders.
• Communicate order status of special-order items with all customers and service departments.
• Notify appropriate party when ordered parts arrive.
• Manage incoming and outgoing phone traffic.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
• Coordinate with delivery drivers for daily delivery and pickups.
• Source, shop, and order emergency non-stock items from local vendors.
• Keep orderly records of all invoices, quotes, and special-order parts.
• Keep counter areas clean and uncluttered.
• Maintain current level of training from all available sources.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Other duties as may be assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Mechanical / maintenance experience and/or previous parts counter experience
• Computer literacy is required
• Proficiency in business applications (MS Outlook, Word and Excel).
• The ability to type 35 wpm.
• Time management skills and the ability to multi-task are essential.
