Italian Studies at Gettysburg College Again with the approval of the chair, courses in other departments at the 200 level or above with an Italian theme can count towards the minor.

Gettysburg College offers both a major and a minor in Italian Studies, as well as various options for study in Italy, including our new program in Ferrara where students have the option to spend a year, a semester, or a summer studying Italian language and culture. an major consists of 12 courses: Italian 201, Italian 202, 5 courses taught in Italian at the 300 level and 5 courses taught in English at the 200 - 400 level.

*With the approval of the chair, one (1) of these five (5) courses may include a First Year Seminar with an Italian theme.

*With the approval of the chair, two (2) of these five (5) courses may include courses with other departments taken in English at or above the 200 level that have an Italian theme. An Italian minor consists of 6 course: Italian 202, 2 or 3 courses taught in Italian at the 300 level, and 2 or three courses taught in English at the 200 - 400 level.
