From South Jersey to South Korea 🌎

During his time as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar at Hanyang University ERICA Campus, Dr. Nicholas Whiting collaborated on research projects involving MRI contrast agents, magnetic resonance and biopolymer characterization while also guest lecturing in graduate chemistry courses abroad.

The experience brought together research, teaching and international collaboration, while creating new connections that extend beyond the classroom and lab.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Whiting back to Rowan and celebrate the global impact of our faculty and research community!

What does Orion look like from the Southern Hemisphere? 🌌

This spring, Ric & Jean Edelman Planetarium Director Amy Barraclough traveled to Chile as part of the 2026 Nature Guardians program, where she explored protected forests, glaciers and dark skies while gathering new stories to inspire future audiences at Rowan.

From seeing Orion upside down to spotting blue whales and Darwin’s frogs, the experience offered a powerful reminder of the connection between science, conservation and wonder.

From Student Research Day to a competitive medical physics Ph.D. program 🎓

Rowan biophysics senior Makaylab Grandal is headed to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Houston Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences this fall to continue her work in cancer imaging and diagnostic technologies.

Her journey reflects the power of undergraduate research, mentorship, and hands-on learning across the College of Science & Mathematics.

Students from the Camden County School District’s Go Green Initiative recently visited Rowan’s West Campus for a hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and environmental science.

Working alongside faculty, they explored regenerative farming practices and aquaponics systems, gaining a closer look at how these approaches support a more sustainable future.
