As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Resilience & Mental Well-Being Seminar hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter. From meaningful discussions on major life transitions to powerful insights on men’s mental health and mindful meditation, this event reminded us that prioritizing mental wellness is essential for our communities, families, and ourselves.

A special thank you to our incredible speakers — Osei Daniels, Dr. Nicole Alford, and Nayo Shell — for pouring into our attendees with wisdom, vulnerability, and encouragement. ✨

We’re also grateful to everyone who contributed donations for local schools and essential care items. Your generosity helped us extend the impact beyond the seminar walls.

Through the transformative SOAR initiatives of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, OGO continues to turn sisterhood into service and service into legacy. We’ve awarded $30,000 in scholarships, served thousands in our communities, and made a significant difference in countless lives.

Here are some of the highlights:

Join Glen Burnie Pearls of Service Inc. in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated® Omicron Gamma Omega Chapter Enhance Our Environment Committee and Unity Gardens for our garden planting and beautification event. This is a family-friendly event and no special skills are required.

On Saturday, May 30, 2026, 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. we will meet at Hall United Methodist Church to plant flowers and plants and prep them for spring and summer. We will meet in the parking lot of the park at 7780 Solley Road Glen Burnie, MD 21060 by 9:30 am. Bring gloves, a shovel, close-toed shoes and dress for the weather. 💐
