Among the state’s public colleges and universities, College of DuPage, with more than 20,000 students, is the second largest provider of undergraduate education in the state of Illinois, after University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently, College of DuPage offers 71 Associate in Applied Science degrees in 41 different career and technical education subject areas; 160 certificates in 46 di

fferent career and technical education subject areas; out of nine degrees awarded, seven are considered transfer degrees with the two most common being the Associate in Arts and the Associate in Science degrees. College of DuPage has also partnered with prominent universities to offer high-caliber bachelor’s degrees programs at a greatly reduced cost. Classes are offered on the College’s 273-acre Glen Ellyn campus, at five regional centers, and at area high schools and other community locations. In addition, College of DuPage is nearing completion of a 12-year, $600 million building plan that has included the construction and renovation of more than one million square feet of educational space.

Supporting student success extends beyond the classroom. In this video, College of DuPage highlights its partnership with DuPagePads, an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Learn how COD connects students with critical resources through outreach efforts, educational programming and partnerships that promote awareness and support. The video also showcases the role of COD Cares, faculty, staff and community organizations in addressing local needs and creating a more welcoming, supportive environment for students facing housing challenges.

College of DuPage’s Physical Education, Fitness and Sports Studies department celebrated the opening of its new Kinesiology Lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by College leaders, including members of the Board of Trustees and College President Dr. Muddassir Siddiqi.

One of the first facilities of its kind at a community college in the United States, the Kinesiology Lab is designed to support hands-on learning and innovative instruction. The facility features advanced technology and equipment capable of conducting more than 100 fitness and performance assessments, giving students valuable opportunities to explore exercise science, fitness evaluation and human performance in a modern learning environment.

The College of DuPage Women's Studies Committee is accepting nominations for the 2026 Adade Wheeler Woman of the Year and the inaugural Student Leadership awards.

Named for former COD History Professor Adade Wheeler, the Woman of the Year award has been given annually since 1983 to individuals who have made significant contributions to the personal and professional advancement of women through education, advocacy and/or mentoring.

Students nominated for the new Student Leadership Award must be enrolled at COD during the 2026-27 academic year and reside, work or volunteer within Community College District 502. Award winners will receive a $500 scholarship and certificate of recognition.
