The MAC houses three theaters: the 793-seat Mainstage, where no seat is more than 16 rows, or 75 feet, from the stage; Theatre 2, a 195-seat hall featuring a "soft thrust" stage; and the Studio Theatre, a versatile, black-box performance space.

A full-circle moment, 40 years in the making. ✨

On September 12, Jim Belushi & The Sacred Hearts Band return to headline the MAC 40th Anniversary Gala, supporting the Belushi Scholarships for College of DuPage Music, Theatre, and Dance students.

Brothers John and Jim Belushi both attended College of DuPage early in their artistic journeys, and their legacy remains deeply connected to the MAC. In 2014, the MAC named its main stage the Belushi Performance Hall in recognition of their impact on comedy, theater, music, and entertainment.

Now, Jim returns to that stage to celebrate 40 MACnificent years and help inspire the next generation of artists.

After 26 years as General Manager, Paula Cebula is beginning a new chapter with New Philharmonic. While stepping down from the role, we're grateful she'll continue sharing her expertise as a consultant throughout the 2026–2027 season. Paula's dedication has helped shape New Philharmonic into the organization it is today, and we're deeply thankful for her years of service.

As we celebrate Paula's remarkable legacy, we're also excited to announce that our current Personnel Manager, Karen Dickelman, will become New Philharmonic's next General Manager.

A longtime member of the New Philharmonic family, Karen first joined the orchestra as a violist and brings leadership experience spanning the private sector, academia, the arts, and performance. Please join us in thanking Paula for her incredible contributions and congratulating Karen on her new role!

The McAninch Arts Center and Cleve Carney Museum of Art join people around the world in mourning the loss of the incomparable Dolly Parton.

This summer, the Cleve Carney Museum of Art created Walking With Giants, a public art project celebrating individuals who have profoundly shaped American culture. When our community was invited to nominate America’s greatest artists, Dolly Parton was unanimously placed at the very top of the list.

It is easy to understand why. Dolly was a giant of the entertainment industry whose remarkable career transcended country, pop and rock music, as well as film and television. Yet her greatest legacy may be the generosity, humanity and joyful spirit she shared so freely with others.

Dolly Parton was not only an extraordinary artist, but also a devoted humanitarian, visionary philanthropist and inspiring role model. She showed us that a woman could be glamorous and strong, humble and powerful, deeply rooted in her heritage while welcoming everyone into her heart.

Today, all of us at the McAninch Arts Center honor her extraordinary life and mourn the loss of a true American giant. Her music, generosity and unmistakable light will continue to inspire generations.

Thank you, Dolly, for sharing your gifts—and your heart—with the world.
