Prefer the dark, edgy comedy with serious dramatic themes? You must check out Deg Sees God (Revised Edition), directed by Jason Francescon in the Little Theatre. It’s an irreverent, satirical play that reimagines the familiar Peanuts characters as troubled teenagers dealing with issues such as sexuality, bullying, grief, abuse, substance use, and identity.

GRAMMY Award–winning saxophonist, composer, and educator Dr. Aaron Joseph Lington is an internationally recognized voice in contemporary jazz. His remarkable career includes performances and collaborations with the San Francisco Symphony, Count Basie Orchestra, Maynard Ferguson, BBC Radio Orchestra, Doc Severinsen, Gordon Goodwin, Randy Brecker, Joe Lovano, and many other celebrated artists.

A recipient of numerous honors—including awards from DownBeat Magazine and ASCAP and the prestigious Sammy Nestico Award—Lington was named California Music Educators Association’s 2011 Jazz Educator of the Year and a Silicon Valley Artist Laureate in 2015. He currently serves as Professor and Coordinator of Jazz Studies at San José State University, as well as Artistic Director for Music in Place and Board President of the record label Little Village.

Now, Lington joins the Citrus Blue Note Jazz Orchestra for an extraordinary night of big-band jazz, with a special appearance by the Citrus Studio Lab Band. Praised for his “finely honed melodic sensibility” and “studied and soulful essence,” Lington brings extraordinary musicianship, creativity, and energy to the stage.
