E-Days is a time to relax, connect, and celebrate being an Oredigger! For some, alcohol or other substances may be part of that experience. Harm reduction is about helping you stay safer, look out for your friends, and make sure you have the experience you want to have during E-Days.

Trust your instincts, stick together, and take care of your fellow Orediggers. Taking small steps to reduce harm helps ensure everyone at Mines, and in the surrounding community, can enjoy E-Days together!

Learn how to save a life from su***de! It’s important that Mines has a network of support for anyone who might be struggling or thinking about su***de, and every Oredigger can be part of that network!

For those who have never attended a training, a 2-hour QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training is for you. You will learn 3 simple steps to save a life. Trainings will take place on Feb 9, Feb 24, March 5, and April 29.

For those who have already been trained, join us for a Refresher on March 17. This 1-hour training will include a review of warning signs and info about current trends and resources.

All trainings include a meal! Sign up on OreConnect, and thanks for being a supportive member of our Mines community!

This flu season is a rough one, and our Mines health center has already been seeing a lot of sick students. Flu symptoms may include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue, and it is very contagious.

Stay healthy with these tips:
🦠 Wash your hands frequently and keep your space clean to kill off germs.
💉 If you haven’t already, get your flu shot! There are some still available at the student health center, but you can also get them (usually for free with insurance) from any pharmacy.
😷 Avoid others who are sick, and keep yourself home if you get sick. Email your instructors if you need an excused absence for class. If you do need to be out of the house, wear a mask!

Find more information about influenza on the CDPHE website: cdphe.colorado.gov. Be well, Orediggers!
