Congratulations to Jake from Burlington, KS on passing his CDL skills test today in Colby!
Jake drove all the way from the other side of Kansas and stayed in a hotel for two weeks to make it happen — that's commitment. We couldn't be more proud of him.
Next up: Pittsburg State University for a B.S. in Automotive Technology with emphases in Diesel/Heavy Equipment and Advanced Fuel Systems — and next weekend he'll be playing Tuba in the East-West Shrine Bowl! Catch him on TV!
Jake also mentioned a friend back in Burlington who may be joining us soon — word is getting out about our program, and we love to hear it!

Proud instructor here — congratulations to Michael from Tribune, Kansas!
The CDL skills exam in Colby doesn't hand out passes. Michael earned his the old-fashioned way — by showing up, putting in the work, and being ready when it counted.
CDL earned. Welding program completed. That's the result of long hours, real effort, and the kind of drive that doesn't quit.
Not many people cross-train at that level — but Michael did both, and now he's putting those skills to work at Gene's Scale in Scott City. We couldn't be more proud.

Help us congratulate Brodey from Tribune, Kansas — he just passed his CDL skills exam in Colby and earned every bit of it!
Brodey didn't come to Fort Hays Tech | Northwest to check a box. He came to work — and work he did. CDL earned. Welding program completed. 16 industry certifications in hand. That's the result of long hours, real effort, and the kind of drive that doesn't quit.
Not many people cross-train at that level. Brodey put in the time right here in Goodland, stacking real skills across multiple trades and walking out the door ready for whatever Western Kansas — or anywhere else — throws at him.
