This morning at approximately 11am, there will be a military helicopter landing on the Hodgdon Field on the Gorham campus. This is part of an exercise and event for the USM ROTC program; there is no cause for alarm. The aircraft will be available for tours until 1pm for the public.

Going on now - regional Public Safety aerial drone conference hosted at USM. Well attended, we hope this continues to support important drone activities for police and fire departments for search and rescue, crash investigation, and other operations that are safer and more efficient to be done remotely.

Friday afternoon several members of the university professional and classified staff were honored for their dedicated service to students and the community.

We are proud to congratulate Campus Safety Officer Melissa Ebert on being recognized with an award for her contributions; Melissa is well known in the community as a helpful, friendly presence that makes everyone feel safe and welcomed. Congratulations Officer Ebert!

Also recognized was Paula Ward, our very dedicated administrative specialist at Public Safety; Paula is the true hero behind the scenes that keeps the department working, the glue that keeps it all together to make sure that we can all do our best. Thank you Paula for all your work!
