Jacob focuses his practice primarily on general civil litigation. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2026, graduating magna cm laude. During law school, he served as a teaching assistant and competed in moot court.

Outside of the office, Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, running and following sports.

Please join us in welcoming Madison Shoenberg to our Fargo office!

Madison focuses her practice on criminal defense and general civil litigation. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Dakota School of Law in May 2026, where she developed extensive advocacy experience through mock trial, moot court and trial competitions. She also served as president of the Student Trial Lawyers Association and Law Women's Caucus.

Prior to joining Vogel, Madison gained hands-on legal experience through internships in private practice and with the Grand Forks County State's Attorney's Office.

Outside of the office, Madison enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the lake, exercising and building Legos.

We have a new attorney to celebrate! ⚖️🎉

Congratulations to Liam Waugh on passing the bar exam and officially being sworn in as an attorney! Liam first joined SW&L as an intern in 2025 while attending the University of North Dakota School of Law. We’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from law student to law school graduate, and now to Associate Attorney on our civil litigation team.

Liam’s practice focuses on commercial litigation and intellectual property, where his background in science gives him a unique perspective when tackling complex legal issues. During law school, Liam was also selected for membership in the Order of Barristers, a national honor society that recognizes graduating law students who have demonstrated exceptional skill in oral advocacy, written advocacy, and brief writing.

We’re proud to have been part of Liam’s journey into the legal profession and even more excited to have him continue building his career here at SW&L.

Congratulations, Liam! We can’t wait to see what comes next. 👏⚖️

A special day for two of our newest attorneys!

Congratulations to Madison Schoenberg and Jacob Loing on officially being sworn in to the North Dakota Bar! We were especially proud to have Vogel attorney and State Bar Association of North Dakota President Rob Manly take part in the ceremony and share remarks with the newest members of the profession.

We are so proud of Madison and Jacob and excited to have them begin this next chapter of their careers with us. Congratulations!
