Kicking off a semester of 3MT training! 🎤⏱️

Graduate students nominated to participate in this year’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition gathered at the Gershman Graduate Center today for an information session led by Graduate School Dean Soojung Kim.

The session outlined what participation in the 3MT program will look like throughout the semester, giving students a better sense of the training process, expectations, and competition before deciding whether to participate.

Students had the opportunity to talk through their research, hear from their peers, and learn how to turn complex research into compelling stories.

Today’s session was just the beginning of exploring what 3MT has to offer!

What a wonderful afternoon of music at the Gershman Graduate Center! 🎹🎶

Dr. Nariaki Sugiura and Wei Yin shared their incredible talents with us during today’s Midday Melodies. Throughout the performance, they shared the stories and traditions behind the music, exploring how Japanese and Chinese musical influences can be expressed through the piano.

Their beautiful performances made for a truly special afternoon of music shared with our graduate students.

Join us tomorrow for Midday Melodies at the Gershman Graduate Center! 🎹🎶

Enjoy your lunch hour with beautiful music and free refreshments as Dr. Nariaki Sugiura and Wei Yin present Hearing Tradition Through the Piano: Japanese and Chinese Folk Influences in the Music of Akira Ifukube and Zhang Zhao.

The concert will be held from 12:15–1 p.m. on the first floor of the Gershman Graduate Center. Open to all members of the UND campus community. No registration required!

Monday through Friday
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Graduate students may access the student lounge during evenings and weekends using their U Card through the North entrance.

Stop by and enjoy:
