The Casa de Trejo will welcome Pablo de León, Guillermo Trotti, and Neil Brenner into its distinguished academic community. This was established at the most recent session of the University Council, following the unanimous approval of two proposals submitted by the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism and Design (FAUD), which set forth the grounds for awarding the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to the three specialists.
Pablo de León is an engineer specializing in human space exploration. He is a professor and Director of the Human Spaceflight Laboratory at the University of North Dakota. He has pursued his professional career both at the University and at NASA.
Throughout his extensive career, he has led numerous scientific projects related to the development of spacesuits, habitats, and systems for lunar and Martian missions. At the same time, he promoted the creation of the Argentine Association for Space Technology (AATE), with the goal of fostering and strengthening space activities in Argentina.
Both De León and Trotti maintain close collaborative ties with FAUD. They have not only participated in the development of projects for the Ergonomics 1 and Ergonomics 2 courses, but also serve as advisory members of the Center for the Design of Habitable Space Systems (ODISEHA), created by UNC and the “Mario Gulich” Institute for Advanced Space Studies.
