What does a day in public health actually look like? 👀 Meet UND MPH alumna Taylor (pictured left, with Lily, another UND MPH alumna)!

Follow along for a look at a day in Taylor’s work as Wellness Coordinator at Polk County Public Health and see some of the many ways public health professionals serve their communities.

🚦 At Crookston High School, Taylor conducted traffic safety observations as part of the Polk County Toward Zero Death Coalition’s Seatbelts and Smiles initiative.

📣 She also joined members of the Polk County Youth Advisory Board at a Polk County Board of Commissioners meeting, where students shared their experiences and perspectives on to***co use in schools and saw the local policy process firsthand.

📱 Back at work, Taylor shifted gears to public health communication, scheduling content for Polk County’s Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok accounts to raise awareness about programs, initiatives, and community resources.

Taylor’s day is a great example of just how many different skills can come together in a public health career!

We had a great time yesterday at the Graduate School Fair, connecting with students and sharing more about our Public Health Program! 🎓

One of our favorite things to do at events is set up a question board, and this time we asked:

💭 “What things are important to you when considering graduate school?”

It was so fun to see the variety of responses—from location and cost to community, opportunities, and even simply having a good gut feeling. Every student has their own priorities and what makes a graduate program feel like the right fit.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat with us! We loved meeting you and hearing what matters most as you think about your next step.
