We're committed to developing the next wave of West Michigan Entrepreneurs and that's why were thrilled to introduce Blue Spark to the local community! On September 17, we'll host the official launch of Blue Spark as part of Tech Week Grand Rapids.

Blue Spark is a place where entrepreneurs will partner with engineering faculty and students to turn ideas into prototypes.
Join us on September 17 to learn about the philosophy of Blue Spark, hear from entrepreneurs currently working with the Padnos College of Engineering, and tour the equipment and facilities housed in the Shape Corp. Innovation Design Center.

Come see how PCE is inviting the community in to help ideas become reality! Registration info is available at the link in the first comment.

PCE has a long history of community partnerships and at this year's Michigan Manufacturers Association Workforce Solutions Summit, Dean Bayo Ogundipe led a break out session about how PCE is adapting to meet the needs of both the modern learner and the state's manufacturers. Thanks to MMA for the opportunity to lead this discussion about the role higher education will play in building Michigan's future.

It was a special moment last weekend as we welcomed a new group of PCE students into the Order of the Engineer.

In this ceremony, initiates were invited to accept the Obligation of the Engineer and a stainless-steel ring, fostering a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession as they joined Link 134 of the Order of the Engineer.

During the event, PCE leadership also recognized the accomplishments of our graduating students as they head into their next chapter. Thank you to all our grads and we look forward to following your future success!

The 35th annual Wooden Shoe Regatta is in the books and this year's event had an extra level of celebration. In addition to saluting the Fluid Mechanics students who created nearly 70 wooden sailboats, this year's event recognized PCE professor Shirley Fleischmann, who brought the Regatta to GVSU 35 years ago and is retiring at the end of the upcoming academic year.

This year's boatmakers joined the hundreds of students who have taken part through the years, having their boats christened with champagne and judged for style and speed.

Congratulations Shirley on creating such a memorable experience for decades of students!

You can learn more about the regatta's history and how it will continue in the future at the link in the first comment.
