RCC's Design and Digital Media department is expanding fast with a new entertainment production degree launching this fall.

Department Chair Steven Swift shared the details on the Jefferson Public Radio last week. The program starts with an Intro to Podcasting course this fall, teaching students the technical fundamentals of audio and video production; a direct response to demand in Southern Oregon's growing audio and video production industry.

The department invested in industry-grade equipment, including a 21-by-15-foot LED virtual production wall with more than 5 million pixels and motion-tracking camera integration, plus a new Dolby Atmos surround sound teaching space that will earn RCC recognition as an official Dolby educational partner.

For students, the payoff extends beyond RCC. The college's digital cinema associate degree transfers directly into Southern Oregon University's digital cinema program, giving graduates a clear path from community college training into a four-year degree.

Feel free to message us for more information, and be sure to peruse all of our Arts, Humanities and Communication pathways available at RCC: roguecc.edu/ddm
