NC Beta Alpha celebrated Founders’ Day and Flo Daniels receiving her Golden Sister certificate. Thanks for the wonderful celebration. PSPs Connie Cathey, Craig Norton and Marie Hurst joined us. It was so wonderful to have soman sisters in attendance, especially the out of town sisters. Thank you my Beta Alpha sisters for the delicious refreshments and beautiful decorations. You are the best.

Beta Alpha sisters at East Carteret High School for the Carteret Community Theatre product of Mary Poppins, Jr. It is an outstanding production ! Make sure you come to see it this weekend or next. Avery Gainey, daughter of our member Jennifer, was outstanding as Jane Banks! So proud of her.

Wow! We had a terrific chapter meeting tonight. We celebrated our 57th anniversary, had a wonderful program on The Title Wave, a library bus created by NC Alpha Chi member Amanda McCall. She got the idea from a media coordinator’s conference and decided she could have one for her county. We enjoyed her presentation and visiting the Title Wave. Our treasurer presented her with a monetary donation from the chapter and 116 gently used books. An added bonus was two local teachers joined us in response to an invitation to hear the presentation and meet us and they both bought books for Amanda. For me it was a special night because Amanda was on my track team in the 90s and one of our guests, Heather Santos,was a former student. Isn’t it wonderful that after 49 years of membership, I still get excited and encouraged from our meetings!

NC Beta Alpha enjoyed a wonderful program tonight presented by Heather Dickerson-Bruner founder of The Gathering Place in Havelock. The Gathering Place is a full service community outreach ministry offering free hit meals and resource referrals for individuals struggling with shelter and food insecurity, addiction, mental health, abuse, and other issues in and around Havelock, NC. We gave a monetary donation to Heather. We plan to volunteer with them this summer.
