🎉 Lance's Block Party was a blast! 💚💙

Students kicked off the semester with boba, bumper cars, games and plenty of opportunities to connect with student clubs and organizations.

From CLC Scholar to Northwestern graduate, and now back to CLC. 🎓

For Anastasia Gustafson, CLC was more than an affordable way to earn a college education. The Scholars Program gave her opportunities to develop as a writer, build real-world skills and create the work that ultimately helped her get into Northwestern University.

Now, she's coming back to CLC to teach the next generation of Lancers.

“I’m working on writing my first novel right now, but actually it was in CLC's creative writing class that I composed the novel that I used to apply to Northwestern University.”

We're proud to welcome Anastasia back home. 💙

Update on CLC's presidential search

Thank you to the more than 200 students, faculty, staff, community members and business partners who participated in Friday's presidential search forums. We have also received nearly 200 responses to the community survey, which remains open through 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.

To allow additional time to review and synthesize the feedback received, the initial Presidential Search Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, has been postponed.

Dr. Keith Miller, CLC's ACCT consultant, will provide an update on the search process at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m.

Any updates to the search timeline will be communicated as information becomes available.

As College of Lake County begins its search for its next president, we’re inviting students, employees, community members and other stakeholders to share what qualities, characteristics and leadership priorities are important for CLC’s next leader.

Public forums will be held Friday, Aug. 21 at CLC’s Grayslake, Lakeshore and Southlake campuses. No RSVP is required.

If you’re unable to attend a forum, you can also share your feedback through an anonymous online survey through 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.

🎓 Meet Andrea Gomez, featured on the cover of the latest CLC Connects Magazine!

During her time at College of Lake County, Andrea served as Student Trustee, held leadership roles and interned for a state representative, discovering a passion for advocating for community college students across Illinois.

Her next step? Studying political science at Lake Forest College as she prepares for law school.

The first step in the search is developing a Presidential Profile that reflects the qualities, characteristics and leadership priorities important to our College and community.

Community members are invited to share their thoughts at public forums on Friday, Aug. 21, held simultaneously at CLC's Grayslake, Lakeshore and Southlake campuses.

Forums will be held at 9 - 10 a.m., 11 a.m. - noon and 2 - 3 p.m. No RSVP is required.

Can't attend? An anonymous online survey is also available, with responses accepted through 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.
