The College of Lake County is located in the far northeastern suburbs of Chicago, serving a district with the third largest population in the Illinois community college system—713,000 residents living in more than 50 demographically distinct communities. Established in 1969 and accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, we serve the residents of District 532. We have a diverse student body with more than 15,000 students in credit programs. 🥫 Help CLC Feed the Need! 💚

CLC is joining community colleges across Illinois for the third annual Feed the Need Campus Food Drive! Our goal is to collect 10,000 items by Dec. 1 to help stock the SHARE Market and support CLC students experiencing food insecurity.

The need is growing. Last fiscal year, nearly 1,700 unique CLC students visited the SHARE Market almost 15,000 times for snacks and groceries. That’s a 22% increase in students and a 70% increase in visits over the previous year.

Want to help? Here are three ways to make a difference:

🛒 Shop and drop: Donate nonperishable food, individually wrapped snacks, toiletries and other essentials at designated campus locations. Find the suggested donation list here: https://bit.ly/47CSrqJ

📦 Shop online: Purchase items from the SHARE Market Amazon List and have them sent directly to CLC: https://amzn.to/47TReg6

🌱 A new chapter is growing in downtown Waukegan!

On Saturday, Oct. 17, we celebrated the grand opening of the Urban Farm Center at College of Lake County’s Lakeshore Campus.

This unique space will bring together urban agriculture, hands-on education, and workforce development, creating new opportunities for CLC students and the broader community.

The Urban Farm Center is expected to open for regular use in spring 2027. We look forward to welcoming students and community members to experience all it has to offer! 💚💙

🩷 Supporting the fight against breast cancer, one patch at a time.

This October, the College of Lake County Police Department is proud to participate in the Pink Patch Project in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. By wearing pink patches, our officers are helping raise awareness about early detection and support for breast cancer research and treatment.

Want to show your support? 🩷 Pink patches are available for $10 at the Student Activities & Inclusion (SAI) Office in Building B, Room 106, at the Grayslake Campus or at any CLC campus bookstore.

Come along with Culinary and Hospitality Management instructor Nathan DuPont as he shares a glimpse of his recent trip to Peru.

From cooking and exploring Peruvian cuisine to visiting historic sites and experiencing the culture firsthand, Nathan's trip offered plenty of opportunities to learn beyond the classroom. 🌎🍴
