🌟 Big News Bears! 🌟 Colorado lawmakers have given the green light to House Bill 24-1231, securing funding for UNC's proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine! 🎓🏥 With a critical physician shortage in our state, this is a major leap towards a healthier future, especially for underserved communities. This milestone will open doors for many doctors of color, ensuring visibility and representation in healthcare, and ultimately, better care for all. Huge shoutout to our legislative champions and everyone who's been part of this journey. 🙌 Let's keep the momentum going and stay tuned for what's next! 🚀

Today, we experienced the warmth of reconnecting with cherished friends from the Northern Colorado community. Laughter echoed as we shared genuine moments, fostering deeper connections. With Dr. Tobias Guzmán and President Andy Feinstein guiding us, we emphasized the significance of nurturing authentic relationships with our Weld County Leaders of Color. These bonds are the foundation of our shared journey towards growth, support, and meaningful connections.

Beautiful things will begin to happen as we continue to work together!

This weekend a group of 60 UNC individuals attended the Catalyst Social Justice Retreat in Estes Park. This justice retreat is a safe space for both students, staff and faculty to get an introduction to social justice or learn how to further their impact, such as influencing the space around them. This opportunity guides you on how to put your words into actions. Here, you can learn how to liberate yourself and then liberate others. “The biggest thing to acknowledge is that without a community, there is no liberation.” - Audre Lorde ✊🏼🫂⚖️
