Did you know that you can study Game Design at UNC? Industry professional Evie (Yanting) Wang, assistant professor of Game Design in the School of Art and Design, guides students through a process that moves them from studying game theory, gameplay and player mindset to learning to use software platforms like Blender, Substance Painter and Unity.

She encourages students to build their portfolios and have them ready for prospective employers, whether in the gaming industry or not. Game design skills like quality assurance, graphic design, 3D modelling, concept art making, basic programming and promotion are highly transferable to other kinds of related careers, including UI/UX programming, quality assurance testing and 3D printing.

Music Education roots run deep at UNC! Three generations of the White/Stream family have launched or are launching their careers as music educators in the School of Music. Starting in 1969 with Dona and Chris White, continuing with their daughters Jennifer (White) Stream and Cathy (White) Keller, and enduring today with current UNC Music Ed student Abigail Stream, this legacy has had a profound impact through each of these teachers in music classrooms across the region.

Announcing the UNC Arts 2026 summer season!

Don’t miss Little Theatre of the Rockies' summer stock theatre during June and July with three delightful productions: The Spitfire Grill (musical), Eleanor (drama), and H***y Tonk Angels (musical).

And Concerts Under the Stars is back July 14, 21 and 28 at UNC Garden Theatre for three free outdoor concerts featuring the Latin remix group Remezcla Band, the Colorado Jazz Orchestra, and the indie-pop band Trash Cat.

Young students and local teachers will also be on campus for a few intensive arts experiences. The Institute for Creative Teaching, June 9-11, is a three-day event offering keynote speakers and workshops as professional development for educators of all levels and subject areas.

Our annual UNC Jazz Camp, running July 12-17, is a week-long, overnight music camp for middle and high school students to come to campus to grow as musicians, performers and leaders with UNC faculty and special guest artists.

Did you know that our student-led comedy troupes Chaos Improv and Hello, My Name Is… Sketch Comedy (HMNI) have built a 25-year legacy of creative community and catharsis? These highly selective "sister troupes" alternate performances every Sunday night, offering students a low-budget, high-energy space to experiment with unscripted games and SNL-style sketches. Beyond providing a much-needed mental break for campus, these groups empower members from all majors to develop skills in writing, directing and public speaking and gain the self-confidence and trust necessary to thrive both on and off the stage.
