Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger to save others. Among those who made the ultimate sacrifice were 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, and 8 paramedics. A total of 411 first responders were lost that day. Their bravery, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Do you recognize me?
We located this dog roaming campus this morning, just as excited to be here as our students for the first day of class. Unfortunately, we found out they were not enrolled in any classes and with no collar or tags to tell us who they were, we transported them to the Wisconsin Humane Society on Radisson Street.

Reminder: The fall waterfowl hunting season for several species will begin shortly. Our campus community and those who reside along the bay near Nicolet Drive may hear and see hunters from dusk to dawn out in the Bay of Green Bay.

We want to remind everyone that using University lands to access hunting areas (while armed) and actively waterfowl hunting from University lands is NOT LAWFUL. However, hunters may lawfully pursue migratory birds IN the waters of the Bay of Green Bay; which can bring their activities very close to shore. Maps of University owned lands are available from several sources including UW-Green Bay's website.

Non-emergent violations of hunting regulations should be reported to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources 1-800-847-9367.

Non-emergent law violations that occur within the Bay of Green Bay (in the water) are reported to the Brown County Sheriff's Office. (920) 448-4200

Any violations of law on University Lands can be reported to the UW-Green Bay Police Department at (920) 465-2300.

Earlier this afternoon, our campus public address system was unintentionally activated during a scheduled contractor-led upgrade to UW-Green Bay’s fire system, resulting in a false active threat alarm.

You are safe to be on campus and continue working this afternoon.
Thank you to everyone who responded calmly and followed Run–Hide–Fight guidance. Your safety remains our highest priority.

Urgent Notice:
Shortly before 3pm today while contractors were conducting a planned system update, an error occurred which activated an emergency message which is integrated into our fire alarm speakers on the Green Bay campus. There is NO KNOWN THREAT at this time related to that message and we understand its nature caused alarm. We are working through this issue and what caused it.
