What an EXTRAORDINARY day at PLCC!

Today, our building was packed with CTE program instructors, academic teachers, administrators, school counselors, Intervention Specialists, and TTW and Transitions Coordinators from across Northeast Ohio!

We welcomed teams from Polaris Career Center, Medina County Career Center, Mahoning County Career & Technical Center, Heartland Technical Education Center, Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, and Columbiana County Career & Technical Center for a day focused on meaningful collaboration, practical takeaways, and building connections with others who share similar roles and experiences.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Dee Smith, ACTE Executive Director, for being part of this exciting day!

This was the first meeting of its kind in Northeast Ohio, and we’re proud to help bring CTE professionals together to share ideas, learn from one another, and strengthen career-technical education for the students we serve.

Our Adult and High School Cosmetology students spent the day surrounded by beauty industry professionals at the Premiere Columbus Beauty Show at the Greater Columbus Convention Center yesterday!

From live demos and hands-on education to learning from industry experts, our students had the chance to sharpen their skills, stock up on beauty products, explore the latest trends, and get inspired by what’s next in the beauty industry!

The energy and excitement of an event like this help our students picture what’s possible and get even more excited about their future in the beauty industry!

Today was a big day at The Neon Lime!

Our Culinary Arts students held a soft opening today, giving them the opportunity to put their skills to work before we welcome the public next week!

Students practiced preparing menu items, working together in the kitchen and serving members of our PLCC staff. It was a great opportunity to experience the pace and teamwork of a real restaurant!

Now, we’re getting ready for the Grand Reopening of The Neon Lime on October 14!

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Lime!

Call 330.896.TABL to make a reservation.

Another group of hardworking PLCC students is stepping out of the classroom and into the real world!

Through our School-to-Work program, these students have been placed in jobs where they’re gaining valuable, hands-on experience, learning from professionals in their field, and earning a paycheck!

Check out this Building Trades feature created by junior DMT student Elisabeth Kelley! From capturing the interview to filming the action, Elisabeth put her storytelling skills to work to showcase why students choose Building Trades.

And there's an extra creative touch! The video features original music from the DMT class's very own music bed library, created right here at PLCC!

A special shoutout to Mr. Adams, our new Digital Media Technologies instructor, who is already getting his students into the groove of storytelling and bringing their creative ideas to life! DMT is just six weeks into its first year, and these students are already putting their skills into action.

No more cutting through wet grass!

Getting from the back wing of campus to the front wing just got a whole lot easier!

A big shout-out to Mr. Irwin and our Building Trades students for putting their skills to work and creating a new cut-through sidewalk on campus. Another great example of hands-on learning making a real difference.
