You’re invited to Franklin County's next Green Drinks meetup! No RSVP necessary—Thursday, May 28 from 4–6 p.m. at Incandescent Brewing. Curious about clean energy? Work in the trades? Passionate about farms, buildings or climate resilience? Drop in, grab a drink and plug into the conversation!

Co-hosted by MassHire Franklin Hampshire and Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by FirstLight Power (Northfield Mountain Recreation and Environmental Center), this casual monthly gathering is all about connecting the dots between clean energy, high-performance buildings, green tech, climate action, land stewardship and the trades that power it all.

Join us from 1-4 p.m. on our East Lawn to celebrate freedom, resilience and the enduring strength of our community. This Juneteenth event is FREE and family friendly - all are welcome! Enjoy a powerful performance by Twice as Smart founder Gloria Matlock highlighting Black innovators, leaders and change-makers, eat delicious food and shop from local vendors and hear featured speakers including acclaimed spoken word artist and educator Maurice Taylor and motivational speaker and poet Mpress Bennu.

Thank you to everyone who attended yesterday's SUCCESS Symposium 2026, Rooting Our Work: Using Data, Connection & Collaboration to Grow Student SUCCESS! And a huge thanks to the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges for sponsoring the event.

Dr. Shanni Smith-Arsenault, GCC's Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Success, opened the day with a welcome and introduced the keynote speaker, Dr. Peter Felten, Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning and Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning at Elon University.
