Teaching Kitchens came full swing this semester! 🔥🍽️Spartan Dining partnered with the NTR-421 class and our Registered Dietitian, Sharnique White, to bring hands-on learning to life through global cuisine and essential kitchen skills!
Here’s what students explored:
🥘 Groundnut Stew – students learned how to properly dice an onion, chiffonade collard greens, and mince garlic
🥬 Gomen with Injera – students put their skills to use by thinly chiffonading collards, gently sautéed in niter kibbeh, and served with injera
🍠 Thai-Inspired Sweet Potato & Peanut Curry – students used all five senses to explore the flavors of Thailand while building bold flavor with red and yellow curry pastes
🤩 Southern-Inspired Mapo Tofu – a fusion dish offering a glimpse into Japanese-style cooking with a rich mapo sauce
Students also explored food guides and dietary guidelines from each country—connecting culture, nutrition, and cooking 🌍
Learning, flavor, and culture all in one kitchen ✨
