UNCG Kinesiology Professor Dr. Jenny Etnier recently talked at the City of Greensboro Library about how exercise may affect thinking and memory in adults with a family history of Alzheimer’s or dementia. Her research doesn’t show that exercise prevents Alzheimer’s but does help better understand how activity and genetic risk may relate to cognitive health.

UNC Greensboro's Human Health Sciences program prepared Fatima Pena-Torres for her plans to become a physical therapist.

After transferring to UNCG, Fatima found a close-knit community of faculty and peers who supported her growth and helped build her confidence in patient care. She completed her degree in December 2025 and is now pursuing her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Methodist University.

We’re proud to see her carry the knowledge, compassion, and cultural competence she developed at UNCG into her graduate studies.
