Today we celebrate Dr. Patterson as she begins an exciting new chapter. While we’re saddened to see her leave the College of Education, we are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact she has made on our students, faculty, and the Educator Preparation Program over the years as the Chair.

Thank you for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to preparing future educators! Your legacy will continue to be felt long after your last day on campus. We will continue to say “We GET TO do this great work!

We wish you nothing but continued success as you embark on this new journey. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie 💙💛

Jakara Jordan, Biology Education Master of Arts in Teaching candidate, attended the 2026 AmGen Biotechnology Summer Professional Development Institute. Ms. Jordan teaches at Page High School.

"The Amgen Biotechnology PDI provided me with a great opportunity to reconnect with hands-on scientific practices that we don’t always get to experience in our classroom on a daily basis. As a science educator, having opportunities to practice pipetting and gel electrophoresis not only strengthened my content knowledge, but also reminded me what it feels like to be a learner again.

I would encourage any educator to participate in this PDI because it provides meaningful professional growth, exposure to real-world laboratory techniques, and ideas that can be brought back to our students. I truly believe this experience has reignited my passion for science and reinforced the importance of continuing to learn and grow as an educator."

✨ What an unforgettable afternoon at our A&Teach Special Education Residency Program Appreciation Luncheon! ✨

Together, we are building stronger educators, transforming lives, and making a difference in classrooms and communities every day. We are still feeling the joy, gratitude, and powerful sense of community from this special gathering.

From laughter and connection to heartfelt storytelling, this event was a true celebration of the incredible work happening within our program. Our residents and mentors shared deeply emotional reflections about how their participation has shaped their journeys. Teacher Residents Tevin Stover and Nykia Ingram, as well as Mentor and Special Education alum, Christiana Galvin, highlighted growth, purpose, and the lasting impact of meaningful mentorship. đź’™

The A&Teach Residency Program is funded by the Boundless Educator Initiative in partnership with the National Center for Teacher Residencies.
