It's Residency-match season at Elon Law!

Our 1Ls and 2Ls met with attorneys and representatives from law firms, government agencies and nonprofits this week to learn about opportunities for their Residency-in-Practice.

The 10-week, full-time Residency gives every Elon Law student the opportunity to put their legal education to work alongside practicing attorneys before graduating and entering practice. Grateful to our many partners across the Triad and state for the mentorship they provide our students as they prepare to enter the profession.

Professor of Law Enrique Armijo spoke with LAist, an independent nonprofit newsroom that includes Los Angeles’ largest NPR station, about Meta’s landmark settlement over teen social media use.

Among other aspects of the case, he discussed unresolved questions about whether Section 230 and the First Amendment shield social media platforms from liability.

Armijo weighed in on the recent $18 million settlement that ended a trial over teen social media use on Meta platforms.

“What happens when we don't expect enough?”

Our Class of 2025 achieved a 90.9% first-time bar passage rate. But the story behind that number is about much more than an exam.

It’s about setting high expectations, giving students the tools to succeed, and building a community around a common goal.

“When we set high expectations, we owe students extraordinary support.”

Dean Zak Kramer shares the story behind Elon Law’s bar success — and the culture that helped make it possible — in a new column for Higher Ed Dive.

A rise in first-time bar passage wasn’t driven by a quick fix. It came from changing expectations.

Hitting the ground running!

August Term is well underway at Elon Law, and our newest students are already settling into law school life.

It’s hard to believe it’s been two weeks since we welcomed 177 members of the Class of 2028 to Greensboro — and more than a week since 48 members of the Flex Program Class of 2030 began their Elon Law journey in Charlotte.

"A charge to keep.”

Welcome to the 48 students in the third cohort of Elon Law’s Flex Program!

At Convocation in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County District Attorney Spencer Merriweather challenged them to remember whom the law is meant to serve -- and to use their skills to fight for the interests of others as if they were their own.

Welcome to Elon Law! We're excited to witness all you will accomplish!
