Congratulations to 2009 Alumna Kathelene McCarty Smith!

We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support that Kathelene McCarty Smith has shown to the students and faculty of the LIS Program at UNCG. Her dedication, hard work, and remarkable accomplishments in the University Archives at UNCG have left a lasting impact on our program and campus community.

This year, Kathelene was honored with the Library and Information Science Alumni Association’s award, which recognizes exceptional service and professional accomplishment by graduates of the UNCG Department of Library and Information Science—a testament to her outstanding contributions and leadership.

Her passion for preserving history, mentoring students, and elevating the archives has enriched countless lives and strengthened the legacy of our institution. We are truly honored to celebrate her achievements and the many ways she continues to inspire us.
