At this year’s commencement, I watched as the Assistant Director of Student Experience, Jasmine Faison, moved through the graduates with intentionality, warmth, and care. She encouraged nervous seniors by name, lightened anxious moments with laughter, and helped steady hearts before one of the most significant milestones of their lives. That kind of presence cannot be manufactured. It is cultivated through genuine love for people.
A proud Bennett College graduate from the Class of 2010, Jasmine later became the College’s official Poet Laureate in 2019. Throughout her years of service, she has worn many hats, but every role has been rooted in one central mission: creating meaningful experiences for her Belle sisters and helping bring the spirit of Bennett to life continuously through community, creativity, and connection.
With both her words and her voice, Jasmine carries influence with grace. She builds rather than tears down. She pours into others intentionally, creating spaces where students feel seen, valued, encouraged, and connected to something greater than themselves. That impact stretches far beyond programs and events. It lives in the hearts of the students she serves.
Thank you, Mrs. Jasmine Faison, for your labor, your leadership, your creativity, and your unwavering contributions to the Bennett College community. Your presence has helped shape the heartbeat of the Bennett experience for so many women, and that work matters deeply.
