Congratulations to Eman Al-Rawashdeh, MPH!

While at UNCG, Eman was a Graduate Assistant (Research Assistant) with the UNCG School of Nursing and worked through the Nursing Research Office on multiple funded research projects under different faculty supervisors. She served as both Teaching Assistant and Tutor for undergraduate nursing students at UNCG and was a Member and Research Coordinator of the ALMA Research Lab with Dr. Sandra EcheverrĂa. Eman is also a member of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society.

Following completion of the MPH Eman plans to pursue a PhD focusing on chronic disease prevention with an emphasis on physical activity and health equity. Eman's PhD work will advance equity‑focused, population‑based analyses and strengthen the representation of Middle Eastern populations as an understudied minority group in U.S. public health research, to produce publishable scholarship and translational outputs.

"I am grateful to my family—my supportive husband and my kids, Yanal and Misk—to the prayers of my mother and siblings, and to the spirit of my father, which has never left my side. My favorite classes at UNCG were epidemiology, quantitative methodology, and post‑baccalaureate health coaching courses, which strengthened my interest in applied public health research and behavior change. One of my favorite college memories was my MPH internship experience through ALMA research lab, where I was able to apply these skills to real‑world research and community‑focused projects."

Eman, we excited about the work you will pursue and the communities that will be impacted by your research!
