Let's Go! Today we have "Reflections of Love" by Alice Joy Davidson

* He is God in heaven above and on earth below. Joshua 2:11

* Love Glow

Hallelujah!
I have felt it
that tingle
that glow
that warmth
that inexplicable, electric energy
that manifests itself
in creativity
and love!
Hallelujah, and praise the Lord!

* Creation

With one loving Hand,
Each atom was planned.

By one loving Mind,
The world was designed.

From one loving Heart,
Each soul got its start.

* First Step

To begin,
God, give me courage
to begin.
Fill me with Your spirit.
let me feel You
deep within.
Give me dash and daring,
confidence
and heart
To take that first small step, God,
to make a humble start.

I hope you enjoyed these. More to follow tomorrow.

Let there be joy, continue the journey, fill your bucket with good and LAUGH!

Let's Go! Today I will bring you some of my favorite poetry from a variety of poets.

* How Old Are You?
by H. S. Fritsch

Age is a quality of mind.
If you have left your dreams behind,
If hope is cold,
If you no longer look ahead,
If your ambitions' fires are dead --
Then you are old.

But if from life you take the best,
And if in life you keep the jest,
If love you hold;
No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly--
You are not old.

* A Bridge instead of a Wall
by Anonymous

They say a wife and husband, bit by bit,
Can rear between their lives a mighty wall,
So thick they can not talk with ease through it,
Nor can they see across, it stands so tall!
Its nearness frightens them but each alone
Is powerless to tear its bulk away,
And each, dejected, wishes he had known
For such a wall, some magic thing to say.

So let us build with master art, my dear,
A bridge of faith between your life and mine,
A bridge of tenderness and very near
A bridge of understanding, strong and fine —
Till we have formed so many lovely ties
There never will be room for walls to rise!

They say a wife and husband, bit by bit,
Can rear between their lives a mighty wall,
So thick they can not talk with ease through it,
Nor can they see across, it stands so tall!
Its nearness frightens them but each alone

* Jenny Kiss’d Me
By Leigh Hunt

Jenny kiss’d me when we met,
Jumping from the chair she sat in;
Time, you thief, who love to get
Sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I’m weary, say I’m sad,
Say that health and wealth have miss’d me,
Say I’m growing old, but add,
Jenny kiss’d me.

* The Night Has Thousand Eyes
by Francis William Bourdillon

THE NIGHT has a thousand eyes,
And the day but one;
Yet the light of the bright world dies
With the dying sun.

The mind has a thousand eyes,
And the heart but one;
Yet the light of a whole life dies
When love is done.

Let's go! Today I will bring some great ones from "A Poem A Day".

* The Way
by Robert Grady

My love's manners in bed
are not to be discussed by me,
as mine by her
I would not credit comment upon gracefully.

Yet I ride by the margin of that lake in
the wood, the castle,
and the excitement of strongholds;
and have a small boy's notion of doing good.

Oh well, I will say here,
knowing each man,
let you find a good wife too,
and love her as hard as you can.age to buy the straw,
And make myself a one the like.

* Late Fragment
by Raymond Carver

And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so
I did
And what did you want
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.

* One Perfect Rose
by Dorothy Parker

A single flow'r he sent me, since we met.
All tenderly his messenger he chose;
Deep-hearted, pure, with scented dew still wet--
One perfect rose.
I knew the language of the flowers;
"My fragile leaves," it said, "his heart enclose."
Love long has taken for his amulet
One perfect rose.

Why is it no one ever sent me yet
One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get
One perfect rose.

* Requiem
by Robert Louis Stevenson

Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will

This be the verse you grave for me:
Here he lies where he longed to be;
Home is the sailor, home from sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.

I hope you have enjoyed today's offering.

Let there be joy, continue the journey, fill your bucket with good and LAUGH!

Let's Go! Today we will have some variety.

From "Heart Thoughts, A Treasury of Inner Wisdom" by Louise Hay

* It is your birthright to express yourself in ways that are fulfilling to you.

* If you want love and acceptance from your family, then you must give love and acceptance to them.

* How are you treating your parents or grandparents? What you give out is what you are going to get when you grow older.

* If you can be free in one area, you can be free in many areas. Be willing to be free.

* A tragedy can turn out to be our greatest gift.

* Guilt never makes anyone feel better, nor does it change a situation. Stop feeling guilty and let yourself out of jail.

* Healing means accepting all parts of ourselves, not just the parts we like best, but all of us.

From "Forty-nine Poems by W. H. Davies

* Seeking Joy

Joy, how I sought thee!
Silver I spent and gold,
On the pleasures of this world,
In splendid garments clad;
The wine I drank was sweet,
Rich morsels I did eat—
Oh, but my life was sad!
Joy, how I sought thee!

Joy, I have found thee!
Far from the halls of Mirth,
Back to the soft green earth,
Where people are not many;
I find thee, Joy, in hours
With clouds, and birds, and flowers—
Thou dost not charge one penny.
Joy, I have found thee!

From "The Best Of Robert Service"

* The Hat

In city shop a hat I saw
That to my fancy seemed to strike,
I gave my wage to buy the straw,
And make myself a one the like.

I wore it to the village fair;
Oh proud I was, though poor was I.
The maids looked at me with a stare,
The lads looked at me with a sigh.

I wore it Sunday to the Mass.
The other girls wore handkerchiefs.
I saw them darkly watch and pass,
With sullen smiles, with hidden griefs.

And then with sobbing fear I fled,
But they waylayed me on the street,
And tore the hat from off my head,
And trampled it beneath their feet.

I sought the Church; my grief was wild,
And by my mother's grave I sat: . . I've never cried for clay-cold child,
As I wept for that ruined hat.

I hope you have enjoyed today's offering. Please be sure to take a look at my website for those special gifts.

Let there be joy, continue the journey, fill your bucket with good and LAUGH!

* From "Great Short Poems" by Carlos William Williams

The Red Wheelbarrow

upon

a red wheel
barrow

glazed with rain
water

beside the white
chickens.

The Kiss
by Sara Teasdale

Before you kissed me only winds of heaven
Had kissed me, and the tenderness of rain—
Now you have come, how can I care for kisses
Like theirs again?

I sought the sea, she sent her winds to meet me,
They surged about me singing of the south—
I turned my head away to keep still holy
Your kiss upon my mouth.

And swift sweet rains of shining April weather
Found not my lips where living kisses are;
I bowed my head lest they put out my glory
As rain puts out a star.

I am my love's and he is mine forever,
Sealed with a seal and safe forevermore—
Think you that I could let a beggar enter
Where a king stood before?

Love

When it is generously and authentically given,
refrain from taking it for granted.
Protect it.

The Voice of God

All Paths Lead to You
by Blanche Shoemaker Wagstaff

All paths lead to you
Where e'er I stray,
You are the evening star
At the end of day.

All paths lead to you
Hill-top or low,
You are the white birch
In the sun's glow.

All paths lead to you
Where e'er I roam.
You are the lark-song
Calling me home!

What about the word "FAITH".

In short, allegiance to duty or a person/: loyalty. Faith is about trust. It is also trust in and loyalty to God. One's faith does not prove that the "Savior" would one day return. Faith is also a belief to have a system of religious beliefs. In essence, it is a devotion. It is also an act of sincerity of intentions and related to having a system of religious connotations. Faith is a word that I believe is part of our inner soul. It's definitions are strong words. Do not project the depth of this emotion. One can define a projected believers and happenings, but one can struggle with the true meaning.

Maybe I know this, I feel this, I need this to project goodness, to engulf wonder. Do not worry about the next step or the future, the Light will shine in the morning. Darkness can be a sign of positive silence. With out faith, progress may be obliterated. The status quo leaves us wondering. Maybe, in short, faith allows us to believe it will happen. We don't need to think about definitions. Faith rests in our inner being. Part of our identity. Without faith, does our soul remain in tact? Maybe, faith is something that allows us to take the next step, ehatever that may be. Faith incorporates every step we decide to take, every thought, every bit of wisdom we have. All the love that surrounds us. Ia ask, if we didn't have fairth, what would replace it? Could we exist without faith? Without faith, are probably wondering what just happened. Remember, faith propels us to .....Yes, having faith, in any language) allows us to do good. With faith we can truly say " we done did good?"

Let's Go! One's Soul

It's truly personal, but difficult to define. I believe it defines who we are. It is the essence of our being. Can we truly exist without a soul? Our soul is us. It is only ours forever. When studying the word "soul", we find the following definitions. How closely together are ones heart and ones soul?

Definitions of "Soul"

* The immaterial essence, animating principle, or actuating cause of an individual life.
* The spiritual principle, embodied in human beings, all rational and spiritual beings, or the universe.
* A person's total self.
* A moving spirit.
* The moral and emotional nature of human beings.
* The quality that arouses emotion and sentimant.
* Spiritual or moral force.
* A strong positive feeling (as of intense sensitivity and emotional fervor).
* Cultural consciousness and pride among people.

What does soul mean to you?

Let's Go! Today I have a bit more about Punishment.

A behavioral note, it's about positive reinforcement.

Yes, we often "quiet" children when they are noisy, often not so quietly. Do we thank them for being quiet - why not?

How about running in the house? Thank them for walking quietly. they will look weirdly at you, but will walk quietly.

Eating with their fingers? Why not praise them for using utensils properly?

It's all about standards, structure and consequences.

Now for a little laughter from "The Snark Handbook"

1. What has three hundred legs and seven teeth? The front row at a Willie Nelson concert.

2. He had a mind so fine that no idea could violate it.

3. Life is like a dogsled team. If you ain't the lead dog, the scenery never changes. Lewis Grizzard

4. She plunged into a sea of platitudes, and with the powerful breastroke of a channel swimmer, made her confident way towards the white cliffs of the obvious. W. Somerset Maugham

5. The trouble with her is that she lacks the power of conversation but not the power of speech. George Bernard Shaw

6. Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint. Mark Twain

7. From the moment I picked up you book until I laid it down, I convulsed with laughter. Someday I intend reading it. Groucho Marx

8. The covers of this book are too far apart. Ambrose Bierce

9. There are books of which the backs and covers are by far the best parts. Charles Dickens

10. The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity. Dorothy Parker

11. I was reading a book - The History of Glue - I couldn't put it down. Tim Vine

12. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most. Mark Twain

Let's Go! Today I will pontificate a bit as it has been a while.

I am a retired University Professor and have spent many hours discussing the concept of punishment. In short short, punishment in today's environment is important, especially in the home. Punishment, however, rarely works. If it did, why do we keep punishing our children for the same thing?

Here goes, when we punish our children they generally stop what they were doing for a short time. Why do they sometimes stop their behavior? It provides them attention even if it is somewhat negative (the punishment). The parent is reinforced because the child's negative behavior often stops and the parent is pleased with the outcome momentarily.

It's about structure, consistency and consequences.

I know you say it's not possible. In all sincerity, it works. You also say nothing works. Have you ever had your child determine his or her own consequences - you will be surprised.

Thanks for reading. Please be sure to take a look at my website for those special gifts.

Let there be joy, continue the journey, fill your bucket with good and LAUGH!
