At the City of Greensboro’s Commission on the Status of Women event at Barber Park, our very own director of public safety and security, Pamelia McAdoo-Rogers receives the proclamation, issued by N.C. Governor Josh Stein, that recognizes Women’s Equality Day (today, August 26).

Rogers servers as Chair of the Commission.
The Commission (CSW) organizes, outreach events, reviews policies and makes recommendations to the City Council for actions necessary to improve the quality of life for women in Greensboro.

Greensboro College faculty and staff were delighted to welcome Bernell Cochran ’56 back home as she celebrated the establishment of her new scholarship for GC students. She loved reconnecting with her alma mater and spending time with students, faculty, and staff. We were thrilled to surprise her with the GC Special for dessert!

The fund will support students whose experiences reflect Ms. Cochran's story. Preferences will be given to female students with
financial need who are majoring in human services, education, or another field dedicated to improving lives.

Thank you, Ms. Cochran, for investing in the next generation and helping make a Greensboro College education possible for students who are committed to making a difference.
A special thank you to Matt Cosner, State Employees Credit Union, for working with us and bringing Burnell to campus. 🦁 💚 🙌
